CapeNature offers reduced rates for Black Friday 2020
Just in time to take advantage of the upcoming summer season, CapeNature is pleased to announce reduced rates to mark Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Online users will receive a 40% discount off getaways at selected reserve accommodation and camping facilities.
Minister of Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning, Mr. Anton Bredell says, “The discount presents a huge relief for locals wanting to travel and support the local tourism economy after months of lockdown and financial strain in the tourism sector.”
With access to nature reserves being a priority for the entity, all visitors are encouraged to get back into nature and to make use of the 40% off offering. A reminder that all visitors will need to register a profile on the online portal at booking.capenature.co.za to view this fantastic special which will go LIVE from 00:00 on Friday, 27 November 2020 and again at 00:00 on Monday, 30 November 2020.
Dr. Razeena Omar, CapeNature Chief Executive Officer, reiterated, “We’re looking forward to offering the Black Friday deal to our visitors again. Over the last three years CapeNature has witnessed the uptake into the global retail trend. Year-on-year, CapeNature’s online booking portal sales have increased by 26%. Consumers are shopping online more due to the global COVID-19 pandemic concerns and the entity would like to take up this opportunity to strengthen our online offering, by diversifying clientele through affordability. The hope is that people will take up the opportunity to explore the province at these reduced rates, as we know the livelihoods of many South Africans have been severely impacted this year”.

- The #BlackFriday promotion will run for 24 hours on Friday, 27 November and on #CyberMonday, 30 November respectively.
- A 40% discount will be available exclusively online via the CapeNature online booking portal.
- The 40% discount will be applicable to self-catering accommodation and camping only.
- The discount will apply to bookings from 28 January 2021 to 31 March 2021.
- The promotion will exclude bookings during school holidays and long weekends.
- All concession products, including the Whale Trail and Kogelberg Nature Reserve Mbali collection accommodation units, are excluded from this promotion.
- This promotion cannot be used in conjunction with another discount or promotion.

The Convention was adopted in the Iranian city of Ramsar in 1971 and came into force in 1975. South Africa, together with almost 90% of United Nations member states from all the world’s geographic regions, have agreed to become “Contracting Parties” committing to designating sites as Wetlands of International Importance.
Update on upcoming transitioning period, Cape Peninsula Baboon Advisory Group
The Cape Peninsula Baboon Management Joint Task Team (CPBMJTT) consisting of representatives from SANParks, CapeNature, and the City of Cape Town, wants to inform communities from baboon-affected areas that options are being initiated to enable a presence of baboon rangers during the upcoming transitioning period. In addition, if all goes as planned, the Cape Peninsula Baboon Advisory Group will be formally established next month.
CapeNature celebrates a decade of connecting communities to nature with Access Week 2024
CapeNature celebrates its 10th annual Access Week between the 21st and 27th of September 2024 this year. The public is invited to access any one of 25 selected Provincial nature reserves across the Western Cape for free during this time. Visitors will be allowed day entry at no cost to enjoy activities such as hiking, bird watching, swimming and mountain biking. CapeNature will also be facilitating a variety of programmes for various community groups during this period.
