1. Collect rainwater in a container to water plants (30 points)
Why not try catching rainwater and then using it for your indoor plants (saving water from the tap)? Use a bucket or other container that is leak-proof by putting it out in the rain.
2. Put the plug in when washing dishes or vegetables (10 points)
Save water by washing your veggies in a pan or sink with the plug in. Water running down the sinkholes is wasted water.
3. Turn the tap off when brushing your teeth. (20 points)
Use a cup and not the tap to rinse your toothbrush while brushing your teeth. Running tap water is wasteful.
4. Plant an indigenous water-wise plant in your garden (50 points)
Water-wise plants donβt use as much water, which makes them much easier to take care of while saving water at the same time. Good examples are sour figs and spekboom.
5. Flush less water by putting a 2-litre bottle or hippo bag in the cistern (30 points)
By adding a bottle or hippo bag to your flushing water it means that you flush less every time! Flushed water is clean, drinkable water β letβs save as much as we can!
