Individual Action Projects

Action Project A - Bring the outside in. Add nature into your home.

By bringing nature into your home, you will connect with nature more often. Use your imagination to do this, send us a picture and explanation of what you have done and earn 100 points. Here are some ideas. Add a new plant to a space in your home. Decorate something in your room with something natural (stones/sand/natural picture). Move your furniture so that the sun catches the bed or couch and that you can enjoy the feel of the sun’s rays.

Action Project B – Pick a Nature Nudge and get more Vitamin N

We need Vitamin N (or nature) in our daily lives, but we must not only be around it, but pay attention to it for it to really lift our mood or make us happy. This project is about selecting a nature nudge that reminds you to stop and appreciate nature where you are. The idea is to stop and look for something natural every time you hear or see your nature nudge. Simply spend one minute looking at or appreciating anything natural. Your nature nudge can be any natural thing you can see, smell, feel or hear. It should be something that you experience quite often, for example the wind on your face, the sound of a bird in the distance, a plant blowing in the wind or a pretty cloud. Whenever you experience the nature nudge you have selected, stop and be in the moment, take in anything natural that is around you – even if it is simply looking at the sky through a window or a pot plant in your room – and take a moment to calm and connect with nature. Tell us what your nature nudge is and about one time that you used it – email this to us and earn 100 points!

Action Project C – Become a sound catcher.

Use your or someone else’s phone to record as many natural sounds as possible. Running water, birds chirping – the sky is the limit. Send us your five sounds and what they are and earn 100 points! Tip – the BEST time to cancel out human noise is in the early morning and evenings.

Action Project D – Write a letter to Mother Nature.

This one is simple. Write a letter to Mother Nature. Share how nature makes you feel, what your favourite thing in nature is and what your favourite smell and sound is. Send us your letter and earn 100 points!
