Wetlands Day
2 February 2024
World Wetlands Day is celebrated every year on 2 February. This day marks the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands on 2 February 1971 and the day was first celebrated in 1997. This day is celebrated to raise public awareness about the importance and value of wetlands. The theme for this year is “Wetlands and Wellbeing.”
Cubs Club Groups that are interested in a wetlands programme during February, can contact learning@capenature.co.za. CapeNature will arrange a programme at your school or alternatively, you may visit one of our nature reserves. Programmes are aimed at the grade 6 curriculum but are suited to grades 4 – 7 too.
Cubs, look out for an invitation to these programmes!
